The clock was dirty grimy and did not run, however, a friend and I rewired it and got the motor to run by cleaning the teeth on the movement, however it is extremely LOUD! (makes a loud hum, keeps good time). WebStep 2: Rust Removal. Now that your clock is in pieces, you can easily remove the majority of the rust with a small wire brush. Brush each piece vigorously until all of the loose rust is gone and you can see bare metal. After you're satisfied, wash each piece in water and dry them off quickly. Add Tip.
